Health4Work – Occupational Health Services

The Health4Work Service considers the effects of work on health and health on work. It aims to minimise work related ill health and to maximise general health in the workplace. The Health4Work Service consists of Occupational Health Professionals who provide professional, confidential and impartial advice about staff’s health, safety and well-being at work. Zest4Life – Health and Wellbeing Services

Zest4Life is an initiative delivered by the Health4Work Service. The purpose of Zest4Life is to take positive action to improve the health and wellbeing of staff by providing opportunities, information and support.  HHFT values staff and believes that having a happy, healthy workforce is the foundation for providing excellent patient care. Zest4Life services provided:

 

  • Health and Wellbeing Campaigns for Staff
  • Promotion and Education of Work-Life Balance and Wellness
  • Provision of Resources, Tools and Support to enable Wellness
  • Courses to support good Mental Wellbeing and Self-Care

Manual Handling and Ergonomics

The Manual Handling and Ergonomics Team support staff musculoskeletal health and patient safety through the continued improvement and education in moving and handling best practice. The team are Subject Matter Experts/Content Leads for the Manual Handling Training provided in the Trust. They also support individual members of staff in workplace rehabilitation, assessments and ergonomics interventions, as well provide specialist advice and information in complex patient and non-patient moving and handling. Other services include:

 

  • Support departmental risk assessment process
  • Advise on equipment provision
  • Audit dept and practise
  • Implement and lead Manual Handling Champions programme
  • Develop Core Technique guides and videos
